Alfred Leroy Evans, age 86, died on Saturday, May 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Leroy was born in the Town of Aurora, Waushara County, WI on August 18, 1927, the son of Alfred
and Amy Priest Evans. He was a 1945 graduate of Berlin High School and served in the U.S. Army
from 1946 to 1947. On April 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to Beverly Missall in Oshkosh.
He was a farmer most of his life, retiring in 1988. He was a member of United Methodist Church in
Berlin.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly; four children, Debra (Roderic) Krause of Berlin,
David (Joyce) Evans of Phoenix, AZ, Michael (Betty) Evans of Omro and Mark (Rosalyn) Evans of
Berlin; nine grandchildren, Sara (Carl) Wierer, Amy (Brett) Ballenger, Brad Evans, Hannah (Luke Van
Drisse) Evans, Bryan (Sara) Evans, Eric Evans, Charlotte Evans, Angeline and Vincent Evans; two
great-grandchildren, Alexander and Arden Everly; sister, Nancy (John) Moriarty, two sisters-in-law,
Eleanore Evans and Ann Evans; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rollin and Warren; and three sisters, Leola,
Gwendolyn and Eleanor.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Welsh Cemetery with the
Reverend Aaron Alfred officiating. Military Honors will be performed by Wells-Krause VFW Post
2925. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin. Memorials may
be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope of Green Lake, 745 South Street, Green Lake, WI 54941.
