Lois Guenther Wagner

    Lois Wagner, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2011, at Juliette Manor in Berlin.

     

    Lois was born October 15, 1917 in Waushara County, WI.  She was the daughter of Louis and Margaret Hoppa Lloyd.  She attended Clark Grade School and Berlin High School.  After high school, she was employed as a glove stitcher at Mid Western Sport Togs and Saeger Glove Company.  Lois was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

    Lois married Henry Guenther on November 16, 1940.  They had two daughters, Judy and Lola.
    They lived on a dairy farm in Fountain Valley.  Those were happy years filled with precious memories.  

After Henry retired from farming, they spent their winters in Florida.  Henry

preceded her in death on May 22, 1971. She married Edwin Wagner on October

14, 1972.  He preceded her in death on September 8, 1991.  Among other

interests, she enjoyed playing cards, watching the Milwaukee Brewers, and

embroidery.  Lois lived a full life and was ready to go to the arms of her Savior

Jesus.  A special thanks to all who cared for Mother during her final days, especially

the Hospice volunteers who sat by her bedside.

 

Lois is survived by one daughter, Lola Main Deason (Tom); grandchildren, Peter

Zirbel, Susan (Matt) Bellm, Sara (Dan) Zirbel, Laura (Jon) Grafflin, and Betsy

(Shannon) Bartlett; great grandchildren, Sofia and Henry Grafflin, and Sydney and

Sammy Bartlett; two sisters, Ruth Krause and Orpha Piekarski; one brother, Pat

(Polly) Lloyd; many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her beloved daughter, Judy Zirbel;

sons-in-law, Richard Zirbel and John Main; two sisters, Genevieve Pribnow and

Florence Stickney; and one brother, George Lloyd.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Barbola

Funeral Chapel in Berlin, the Rev. Bryan G. Lundquist officiating.  Interment will be in

Rushford Cemetery, Winnebago County.  Friends and relatives may call on

Saturday, August 20 at 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Memorials may be

directed to St. John Lutheran Church/School or a charity of your choice.
