Robert W. Sanders Jr., age 54, of the Township of Lawrence, formerly of Berlin, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 21, 2011.

 

He was born in Berlin on November 26, 1956, the son of Robert and Bernice Sanders.  He attended Berlin Public Schools and was a 1975 graduate of Montello High School.  Robert served four years in the U.S. Navy   He was a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Green Bay for 30 years.

 

He is survived by his Mother, Bernice; one brother James (Tami) Sanders of Wisconsin Dells; Uncles Alfred “Chick” Leistikow, Robin Sanders, and Harley Hoffman; Aunts Mildred Draeger and Verna Paul; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father; and Uncles Richard and Raymond Sanders.

 

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, the Rev. Aaron Alfred officiating.  Interment with Military Honors was in Oakwood Cemetery by the Wells-Krause V.F.W. Post #2925.
