Sharon M. Ryan, age 64, of Berlin, died peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, following a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer

 

Sharon was born January 14, 1947 in Alliance, NE, the daughter of Walter and Jacqueline Pahlow Schulze.  She was a graduate of Alliance High School in Alliance, NE and Studied X-Ray Technology at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO.  On February 6, 1968, she was united in marriage to Joseph Ryan in Denver, CO. Sharon was an X-ray Tech in Denver, Sterling, CO, and moved to Berlin in 1988, where she worked at Berlin Memorial Hospital for 18 years.

 

She was a member of Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin, a past member of the church council, member of the Hope Circle, and is currently President of the Women of Grace.  Sharon enjoyed her family and grandchildren, and her involvement with the people of Grace Church, and her book club friends.

 

Sharon is survived by her husband, Joe; her daughter Lorri (Al) Basile of Parker, CO; her son Jeff of Berlin; and grandchildren Caitlin Stumpner, Jordan Basile and Brandon Basile; her brother Warner (Michelle) Schulze of Alliance, NE; her cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dwain Schulze.

 

Funeral services was held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin, the Revs. David Sielaff and Rick Engen officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel of Berlin.
