Thelman “Tally” Rodman

    Thelman “Tally” Rodman, age 77 of the Town of Seneca, died peacefully at his home on Friday, May 11, 2012.

     

    He was born June 11, 1935 on the family farm near Oklee, MN.  He was the son of James and Florence Pederson Rodman.  He graduated from Oklee H.S. and served in the U.S. Army.  On June 22, 1957, he was united in marriage to Grace Guenther at Zion Lutheran Church in South Milwaukee. The Rodmans moved to this area in 1970 where they have farmed in the Town of Seneca for the past 41 years. 

    Tally also worked for 25 years at Berlin Foundry. He was a faithful

    member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Fairburn and a member

    of the “Old Timers” of the foundry.

 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Grace; three children, Lisa

Rodman (special friend Bill Gronau) of Neshkoro, Randy (Jessica)

Rodman of Berlin, and Amy (Jim) Wallenhorst of Berlin; seven

grandchildren, Jennifer (Darren) Johannes, Megan (Zach) Bays,

Alyssa (Brian) Mattice, Karina Rodman, Amber Wallenhorst (fiancé

Cody), Josey Wallenhorst (special friend Jeni), and Ciara

Wallenhorst; five great-grandchildren, Dominic, Cameron, and Brady

Johannes, Colton Ferron, and Abbygayle Bays; his brother, Ernest

(Alice) Rodman; three sisters, Fern Guenther, Darlene (Jerry)

Schwartz, and Verna (Dennis) Zahn; sister-in-law, Janice (James)

Mott; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Tally

was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert; and

brother-in-law, Dennis Guenther.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 4:00 p.m. at St.

Paul Lutheran Church Fairburn, the Rev. Gregory Sluke officiating. 

The family will receive friends and relatives at the church, on Thursday

from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
