Julian Rivera, age 85 of Auroraville, died peacefully in his home on Friday, December 14, 2012.

He was born November 10, 1927 in Victoria, TX, the son of Frank and Maria Martenza Rivera.
Julian was united in marriage to Thelma Quick on October 19, 1947. They enjoyed 65 years of
marriage. Julian worked at Berlin Foundry (Chapman's) for 49 ½ years. He was a member of the
Knights of Columbus, Auroraville Snow Blazers, the "Coon Club", and enjoyed many days of fishing,
hunting, and sturgeon spearing. He was a champion raffle ticket salesman.

Julian is survived by his wife, Thelma; a son Victor (Jean) Rivera of Berlin; a daughter Rose Rivera of
Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Teno, and Henry; sisters Theresa
Stumpner, and Agnes (Bob) Ziebell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tena Hawks; a son Martin; brothers Don and
Frank; and a sister, Katie Flores.

Funeral services for Julian will be held on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral
Chapel in Berlin, with Judi Gosenheimer, Lay Presider at St. Mark's Catholic Church officiating.
Inurnment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the Town of Aurora. Friends and relatives may call at
Barbola Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
