Jean M. Reitz

     

    Jean M. Reitz, age 54, of Berlin (Town of Nepeuskun), passed away and was welcomed into the arms
    of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Berlin Memorial Hospital.

     

    Jean was born July 31, 1958 in Berlin, the daughter of LeRoy and Janet (Manske) Teske. Jean
    grew up in Berlin, and graduated from Berlin High School with the class of 1977. She then went on
    to further her education at Moraine Park Technical College in their Business Program. She was a
    member of St. John Lutheran Church, Berlin, her entire life.

     

    On November 10, 1979, Jean married the love of her life, David Reitz at St. John Lutheran Church
    in Berlin.

    Jean had previously worked with her father in the insurance and real estate business, and
    was a licensed insurance agent and real estate agent. She also worked in the auction

    business with her family. Upon her father's retirement she worked as a legal administrative

    assistant.

     

    Jean is survived by her beloved mother, Janet Teske of Berlin; her beloved husband of 33 years,
    David; two cherished sons, Ryan of Berlin and Andrew "Andy" of Green Bay; a dear sister and best
    friend, Kathy (Trent) Jezwinski of Appleton; her mother-in-law Nancy Reitz of Oshkosh; two special
    sister-in-laws, Cathy (Allen) Silverthorn and Monica Reitz both of Omro; nieces and nephews, Logan
    and Merritt Jezwinski of Appleton, Jessica (Todd) Gilson of Winneconne, Shannon (Ryan) Besaw,
    Sarah (Ben) Lang and Joshua Silvertorn all of Omro; an aunt and uncle, Gordon and Jean Manske of
    Berlin; and other relatives and friends.

     

    Jean was preceded in death by her dear father, LeRoy Teske; a brother, Gary Teske; father-in-law
    Harold "Pete" Reitz; her grandparents, Arnold and Mata Manske and Alfred and Edith Brechlin.

     

    Her greatest joy in life was her sons and all the joy and pride they brought to her life. She especially
    enjoyed sitting on all those bleachers throughout the years, watching them in all their sporting
    events. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking and baking for all of them. She loved
    decorating and landscaping.

     

    Visitation for Jean will be held on Sunday, December 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barbola
    Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Her family will hold a private funeral service Monday, with burial to follow in
    Oakwood Cemetery.

     

    Jean's family extends a special thank you to the I.C. U. staff at Berlin Memorial Hospital for the
    support and care given to Jean and her family during this difficult time.
