Alfred Pence, age 79, of the Township of Rushford, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 12,
2012 at Omro Care Center.
Alfred was born July 14, 1933 in Jackson County, KY, the son of Ealy and Manda Vancleave Pence.
On January 28, 1957, he was united in marriage to Edith Adkins in Indiana. Alfred worked as a
maintenance man for Alto Creamery for 35 years. He was a member of the Eureka United Methodist
Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith; one son Robert (Becky) Pence of Berlin; and a daughter
Valerie (Tom) Wucherer of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Dani Pence of Berlin, Alan Pence (Rhonda
Kuhasta) of Berlin, Natalie & Aidan Wucherer of Las Vegas, Josh Pence of Berlin and Jake Pence
of Beaver Dam; great-grandchildren Gracie Pence of Berlin, Alex Pence of Omro, Abigail Pence of
Oshkosh, Haley & Dominic Pence of Berlin; his sisters, Gertrude (Don) Moore of Jamestown, OH,
Ellen Farra and Molly Huggins, both of Dayton. OH. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, one
son, Thomas Wayne Pence; a sister Ora Brunner; and three brothers, Roland "Shorty", Johnny, and
Raleigh Pence.
Funeral services will be held at Eureka United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 18 at 12:00
noon, with the Rev. Anita Genrich Officiating. Inurnment will be in Eureka Cemetery in the Town of
Rushford at a later date. Friends and relatives may call on Monday, December 17 from 4:00 p.m. to
7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, and on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until
the time of the service.
