Mary Lorraine Krebs

    Mary Lorraine Krebs, age 93, of Berlin, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Patriot Place in Berlin.

     

    Mary was born August 13, 1919 in Omro, WI, the daughter of William and Agnes Andersen Hackney. She was a graduate of Green Lake County Normal. On June 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to Lyle Krebs at North Rushford Methodist Church.

    She was an avid collector of teddy bears, dolls, and antique furniture. Mary loved to cook and bake

    cookies, which she often gave away to friends and family. Mary loved her grandchildren and enjoyed

    spending time with her husband, Lyle, at their cottage on Little Hills Lake.

     

    She was a teacher for several years, starting in rural schools, and became Principal at Eureka Grade

    School. Mary was a member of Federated Church in Berlin.

     

    Mary is survived by two sons, William (Jan) Krebs of Berlin and Garry (Marie) Krebs of Lakeville,
    MN; six grandchildren, Nicole (Rico) Looney, Eric (Tonia) Krebs, Christopher Krebs (special friend
    Vanessa), Tyler (Ali) Krebs, Tim (Angie) Krebs, and Kim Sorenson (Fiancé Damian Day); eleven
    great-grandchildren, Haley, Alexa, and Jada Looney, Kyle and Ryan Krebs, Kobe and Kade Krebs,
    Jason Krebs, and Ava, Casey, and Brady Krebs; and nieces and nephews.

     

    Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle “Tootsie”, on April 14, 2009; three sisters and
    brothers-in-law, Helen (Erv) Daggett, Beverly (Andy) Sobralski, and Marjorie (Nial) Ellis; a brother
    and sister-in-law, William “Bud” (Joyce) Hackney; and a nephew, Bill Hackney.

     

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel
    in Berlin, the Rev. JoAnn Schoblaski officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends and
    relatives may call on Saturday morning from Noon until the time of services at the funeral chapel.
