Gary D. Radtke

     

    Gary D. Radtke, age 76, died peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at home with his family at his side.

     

    He was born December 26, 1937 in Shawano, WI the son of Edward and Minnie Radtke. He graduated from Bonduel High School in 1955 and attended technical college for two years.

    On August 25, 1962, he was united in marriage to Virginia Haley at St. Anthony Catholic Church

    in Oconto Falls. Gary worked at I.B.M., Badger Breeders in both Shawano and Winneconne,

    International Rockwell Corp and Square D in Oshkosh. He was a member of the Electrical Workers

    Union. During his lifetime Gary enjoyed fishing and hunting, card playing, wood cutting, bowling and

    casino trips. In later years Gary enjoyed watching and feeding birds and squirrels. His motto was,

    “Do the best you can with what you’ve got”. His best time spent was with his family.

     

    He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia; three daughters, Amy (Ken) Markham, Julie Radtke

    (Tim Doolittle), and Becky (David) Brooks; son-in-law Joe Andersen; five grandchildren, Amanda

    Heise (Nathan Michalski), Andrea Markham (fiancé Michael Lemke), Zachary Brooks, Rachel Brooks,

    and Richard Markham; two great-grandchildren, Ian Mitchell and Macy Jacqueline; his sister,

    Dolores (Bob) Bohr; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter,

    Jacqueline “Jackie” Andersen; his parents; two sisters; and one brother.

     

    Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 7:00 pm. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin,

    the Rev. Scott T. Piper officiating. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to

    7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
