Erna I. Page

Erna Irene Page, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Patient Pines in Green Bay, where she had resided since mid-July.

Erna was born November 26, 1919 in Oakdale, WI, the daughter of William and Emma Draeger Brookman. On December 4, 1937, Erna was united in marriage to Fred C. Page. Together they

shared in the joys and difficulties of farm life for over forty years on a farm located south of Berlin. She was able to remain in the farmhouse where they shared a wonderful life together until this past

July, when she moved to an assisted living facility in Green Bay to be near her daughter. Erna will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother,

and great-grandmother. Although her family was her primary focus, Erna also loved being outdoors,

whether gardening or simply watching the birds and the deer that were part of her surroundings.

She was an avid reader, and, once her husband retired, she enjoyed traveling as much and as often as

possible. Church was also a primary focus of her life, first as part of First Baptist Church in Berlin, and

then as a member of the Federated Church community.

Erna is survived by her daughter, Betty (Jim) Bienash of Green Bay and her son, Clark (Suezi) Page

of Rocky Mount, NC; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her

husband, Fred, on July 30, 2006; her parents; and a brother, Howard.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel

in Berlin, the Rev. JoAnn Schoblaski officiating. Interment will be in Welsh Cemetery in the Town of

Aurora. Friends and relatives may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the

funeral chapel. Online condolences for the family may be emailed to barbolafc@yahoo.com.

A very special thank you is extended by Erna’s family to TLC Home Care of Berlin, the staff of Patient

Pines in Green Bay, and Hospice Advantage, who created a loving second home for her.
