Mary K. Krause


    Mary Kathleen Krause, age 57, lost her courageous battle with cancer on September 6, 2014. She

    was born January 12, 1957 to Ralph and Ione Haugen Brehmer. Mary was baptized into the body

    of Jesus Christ on January 27, 1957 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bellingham, MN and we look

    forward to seeing her in the Resurrection. She was confirmed on May 16, 1971 at St. John Lutheran

    Church in Revillo, SD.

     

    Mary graduated from Grant-Deuel High School in 1975 in Revillo, SD. She received her Bachelor’s

    Degree from South Dakota State University in 1980. On June 7, 1980, she was united in marriage to

    Keith A. Krause. Mary enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe accompanying her

    husband during his active duty Army career. They settled in Berlin, WI for the last seventeen years.

     

    Her greatest joys were her children, Jeremy and Stephenie. She also enjoyed volunteer work,

    scrapbooking, music, traveling, substitute teaching, watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins

    games, and being with her family.

     

    Mary is survived by her husband, Keith; son, Jeremy of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Stephenie of

    Sioux Falls, SD; her mother, Ione Brehmer of Milbank, SD; five sisters, Betty (Tom) Frogner of

    Milbank, SD, Nancy Brehmer of Minneapolis, MN, Angela (Tom) Pautz of Maple Grove, MN, Connie

    (Todd) Rufer of Strandburg, SD and Renae (Brian Kelly) Fox of Revillo, SD; two brothers, Stephen

    Brehmer of Strandburg, SD and Brian (Lynn) Brehmer of St. Michael, MN; and many nieces and

    nephews. She is further survived by her father and mother-in-law, Clinton and Norma Krause of

    Goodwin, SD; her brother-in-law, Frank (Pam) Krause of Watertown, SD; and sisters-in-law, Kayleen

    (Robert) Werner of Watertown, SD and Jean (Willard) Wiekamp of Goodwin, SD. Mary was preceded

    in death by her father; grandparents; and nephew, James Krause.

     

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:30 am at Emmaus Lutheran

    Church in Poy Sippi with Rev. Mark Meier Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Watertown, SD at a

    later date. Friends and relatives may call on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00

    p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin and again on Saturday at the church one hour prior to the

    service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mary Krause Memorial for Breast Cancer

    Research or Emmaus Lutheran Church.
