Dr. Dale R. Dean

    Dr. Dale R. “Doc” Dean, age 83, died peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Theda Clark in Neenah.

     

    He was born March 31, 1931 in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Ralph and Florence Murdy Dean. Dale was

    raised by Clifford and Estella Dean. He was a 1949 graduate of New London High School. Dale served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Mt. Rushmore from 1950-1954. He graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, IA in 1958. On October 25, 1958, he was united in marriage to Joan Lemke in Appleton.

     

    Dale started his chiropractic office in Kimberly before moving it to Berlin in 1966. He was a member

    of Berlin United Methodist Church, a Past Commodore of the Berlin Boat Club, past member of Berlin

    Masonic Lodge #38, Berlin Lions Club, OConner-Chiers Post #340 American Legion and past member

    of Trout Unlimited.

     

    He is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons, Mark (Julie) Dean of Rochester, MN and Robert “Rob”

    (Deb) Dean of Berlin; four grandchildren, Sara (John-Mark) Sheppard, Katie Dean, Alissa Dean and

    Tyler Dean; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Noah; two sisters, Audrey Gotgetreu and Betty

    Potokar; one sister-in-law, Ruth Dean; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by

    his parents, one brother, J. Kermit; and one sister, Iris Juckem.

     

    Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in

    Berlin, the Rev. Aaron Alfred officiating. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh at

    a later date. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barbola

    Funeral Chapel in Berlin. A memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent to the
