Jean worked in various departments and positions at Caledonia Community Hospital from 1954-1965 and Berlin Memorial Hospital from 1966-1997. She enjoyed staff nursing and patient care the most. After retirement, she was involved with Mobile Meals and the Mission Action Committee at church making quilts and layettes for Lutheran World Relief.

Jean enjoyed playing cribbage and even had a perfect hand once! She was affectionately known as the “Rosette Queen”, as she made over 2,000 rosette cookies in 2020, which she graciously shared with everyone. Jean was a former active member of Grace English Lutheran Church, serving with Faith Circle, and currently a member of Light of Christ Lutheran Fellowship, both in Berlin.
