Lucy J. Leach
Lucy Janze Leach, age 87, of Berlin, Wisconsin, died peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Juliette Manor in Berlin.
She was born January 28, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Norman and Dorothy Flower Janze. Lucy was a 1954 graduate of Green Lake High School and the National College of Education (now National Louis University). On June 22, 1959, she was united in marriage to E.C. “Pete” Leach, Jr., in Green Lake.
Lucy was a homemaker and avid reader throughout her life, who enjoyed crossword puzzles and was particularly fond of game shows. In her younger years she crewed with her husband for snipe races in the Green Lake Yacht Club, and also held a private pilot's license.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Clara) Leach and Ted (Katie) Leach; and seven grandchildren. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. “Pete” Leach on January 15, 2005.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from Noon to 1:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating.
